Welcome to Dr Thrasher’s first driving phobia log
It is hoped that this website will form a useful resource for those with anxiety associated with driving or with travelling by car as a passenger.
Driving phobia seems to be amenable to both self-help and to psychological treatment. To date the most effective treatment is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or CBT. It is techniques from within the CBT framework which are most likely to be helpful, and from which we will be exploring various elements over the next few months.
Comments from your own personal experiences with difficult driving and in therapy are warmly welcomed here.
